Serious Games Challenge Workshop

First Coding is teaming up with the Serious Games Showcase and Challenge (Europe) this year. This is a great opportunity for game designers young and old to get involved and experience the excitement of entering a game design event, all within a collaborative and friendly community.

Please bring your own laptop to the event.

Whether you’ve made games before or just want to explore your creative side more and are aged between 12 and 16, then First Coding’s workshop this February half term is for you. The workshop is designed to step you through the game design process, covering the fundamentals through Scratch and Python before looking at how we submit games to the competition. For those interested to learn more, there will be additional topics covering the monetisation of your Scratch/Python games. Last year, two of the games entered were bought by contractors for their own customers – the SGSC develops young talent and provides direct access to those that may sponsor them at Uni, provide apprenticeships in IT and Gaming and future employment. It has all happened through this programme in the US and we are going to replicate it here! It’s also very prestigious and would be a huge thing on any CV.
