The Autumn term has come to an end, and while it’s been a long one, it’s also been incredibly productive. The longer the term, the more opportunities we have to create and this term was no exception.
We delivered a wide range of creative workshops, from game design and Python coding to our final workshop of the year, electronics with the Micro:bit. Students explored coding concepts while working hands-on with sensors, wiring external LEDs, and programming Morse code messages and traffic light sequences. Below are a couple of photographs of our final workshop of 2025 workshop. More workshop dates will be released shortly, so be sure to check the website soon.

As 2025 draws to a close, we can reflect proudly on what we’ve achieved. A total of 336 students took part across our workshops, Alternative Provision services, and tutoring groups. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported First Coding throughout the year.
For students and teachers outside our catchment area, First Coding also provides digital resources available across several online platforms. These resources have been downloaded over 1,200 times, highlighting both the demand for and importance of our work, whether it’s delivered face-to-face or through digital support. Our Patreon Gaming Club has also continued to grow steadily, offering members a brand-new game and project files each month. You can check out the Gaming Club here, along with our guide on how to monetise your Scratch projects here.
Before First Coding signs off for the year, we would like to wish you a very happy and restful Christmas, and all the very best for 2026!
