I’ve been to the BETT Show a few times over the years, so it was great to be back again. Held at ExCeL London, it’s the UK’s biggest education event and a brilliant snapshot of where education is heading and how different parts of the sector are evolving.

One of the highlights for me was chatting to so many people from the big names like Google, Microsoft and LEGO, right through to smaller teams and independent developers. It was really interesting to see the range of tools and platforms being built to make lessons more engaging and to help educators plan and deliver content more effectively.

My favourite part, though, was seeing how the BBC micro:bit is being used alongside different platforms. I also had a great conversation with the team from BBC Bitesize, who pointed me towards some extra resources and podcasts that will be really useful for my GCSE tutoring groups. Oh and I got a demo of Google Vids it’s awesome.

The show itself is huge, with everything from major global companies to small startups. I really like that individuals and smaller developers have a presence alongside the big hitters as I think it gives the whole event a great mix of ideas, energy and perspectives, and makes BETT feel genuinely representative of the wider education tech community.
